Sunstorm Interactive was a video game developer and publisher who specialized in Build engine games and add-ons. It was founded as Atomic Entertainment by Anthony Campiti, publishing Skunny: Special Edition, and given its final name in 1995.
In the 1990s, the company was known for developing popular add-ons for games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Redneck Rampage, and Shadow Warrior. They hired several members of modding teams BDP Community and Level Infinity as contractors, as well as independent map makers such as Charlie Wiederhold, Bill Buchalter, and Robert Travis.
In 2003, the company was shut down due to financial difficulties. The company was relaunched as Sunstorm Games in 2009 and redefined itself in the mobile gaming app market. In 2015, the studio was acquired by TabTale, and the Sunstorm brand has since disappeared, with its website closing in 2018. TabTale was renamed Crazy Labs in 2019.
