Sector Effector, also known by its file names _SE.MAP or SE.MAP, is one of three demo maps included with Duke Nukem 3D. Along with Zoo and Sector Tag, this map was intended to demonstrate the technical capabilities of the Build engine.
This map is named after programmable elements known as "sector effectors" that can be placed like objects in the game's map editor but which are invisible when loaded. Depending on the numbers assigned to a sector effector's "lotag" and "hitag" values, it will have different effects on the surrounding map. The various effects are demonstrated in isolated rooms on this demo map, where each room is accessible via a teleporter in a massive hall of numbered teleporters.
