The Large Medkit is an item in Duke Nukem 3D.
The Large Medkit gives the player 30 points of health when picked up. Large Medkits will heal the player up to 100 health.
Large Medkits are surprisingly common throughout the game. In fact, they’re the most commonly encountered health item throughout the game.
Tips and TricksEdit
- If the player has 85 or more health, picking up a large Medkit is a waste. Instead, they should wait until they’re much closer to 70 or lower health in order to maximize the Large Medkit’s potential.
In LameDuke, a six-pack of Coca-Cola replaces the Medkit. It is otherwise the same as the final’s Large Medkit, but blows up when shot, much like the Coca-Cola seen in Duke Nukem 1 and II. In fact, a six pack appears as one of the most powerful healing items in Duke Nukem II, which LameDuke draws a lot of inspiration from.
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th anniversary World Tour. Edit
In Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World tour the Medkits no longer carry a red cross. Instead the symbol is a pill. Apart from this the appearance is more-less the same.
- The reason the Large Medkit no longer has a red cross in Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour is most likely because the Canadian Red Cross issued a press release asking video game makers to stop using the red cross in their games.
