Deeper Underground is the fourth level of Shaky Grounds, by Merlijn van Oostrum.
Summary[]
Froyd is at it again! He has officially let loose a second blast from his machine, which has not only caused near total destruction of Emmerichville, but also caused alien structures to instantly rise from the ashes! With Duke finally arriving at "The Kompleks", he is inching ever closer to putting a stop to this mad alien's plans. Every single second counts!
Secrets[]
There are seven (7) secrets in this level.
Secret #1: Ring-a-ding-ding, Baby![]
- Location: Starting room
- Method: Use the bell behind the bar to open up the portrait of Duke Nukem, and head inside the secret office
- Reward: Armor, Ammo for Shotgun, Ammo for Chaingun Cannon
Secret #2: Sound Check[]
- Location: Sound room next to the main stage
- Method: Use the server rack on the back left wall to move it out of the way and reveal a vent duct. Crawl through it to the other side.
- Reward: Freezethrower, Atomic Health
Secret #3: Backstage Pass[]
- Location: "Backstage" room (Red Access Card required)
- Method: Enter through the door, then immediately turn around to spot a small red button the floor next to it; use it to open a section of wall on the other side of the room and head inside.
- Reward: Holoduke
Secret #4: Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls[]
- Location: "Slime Energy Tower" room with Sentry Drones
- Method: Eventually, you will come to a series of rooms with rushing water and alien growth all over the walls. One of these rooms will have a couple of "slime energy towers" and have a couple to few Sentry Drones to deal with. On one end of this room is some rushing slime that leads into a grate. On the opposite side is a waterfall with some Small Medkits just to the right of it. Go through the waterfall to enter a hidden room.

Secret #5: Slimy Platforming[]
- Location: Giant area full of destroyed buildings and rushing slime
- Method: At the very bottom of this area, you will see an Enforcer on a destroyed section of building. To the left of him, you will see two more small sections of destroyed building, with an alcove across from it. Platform to this alcove and head all the way to the end; mind the enemies you find inside!
- Reward: Shrinker/Expander, Ammo for Shrinker, Ammo for Expander (2)
Secret #6: Wall-Humping[]
- Location: Yellow-hued Control Room, past the giant slime chamber (Blue Access Card required)
- Method: Just past this control room (which has some sort of structure in the middle blocked by a forcefield), you will come to a fork in the road. Head right and go through the door; deal with the Enforcers inside, then look for a section of wall to the left of them that looks slightly different from the rest. Open it up and head inside.
- Reward: Ammo for Expander (2), Ammo for Chaingun Cannon, Large Medkit
Secret #7: Magmanimous[]
- Location: Giant magma-filled chamber
- Method: On one of the ledges that surround the magma pit in the middle of this chamber is a small set of stairs; get to the bottom of them and hit the "use" key to bring up an elevator. Take the elevator down for a hidden prize. The magma will NOT break your fall like water and slime would, so do not just jump down into it.
