Duke Nukem Wiki

Alien Invasion is a total conversion for Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition. It was created by Fred Hero and released on June 16th, 1999. It contains new levels, new graphics (including graphics from Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Doom II, Shadow Warrior, Blood, and Rise of the Triad: Dark War) new voice-overs (including voice-overs from Shadow Warrior), and new music (including music from Doom, Shadow Warrior, Blood, and Rise of the Triad: Dark War). Alien Invasion took two years to finish development.

To play the mod with a source port, such as EDuke32, unzip the ai folder, unzip the ainv folder, copy and paste the unzipped ainv folder into a folder containing the source port, copy and paste all of the files from inside of the unzipped ainv folder into the folder containing the source port, left click and drag INV.CON into the source port's main .exe, then run EDuke32 with the custom game content directory settings on the "ainv" option.

  • The "Tiberius Station" level will crash the mod if it is accessed. A message will appear with the text "Subway found no zero'd sectors with locators at (30976,21248)." Due to this bug, in order to get to the Alien Breed level, the player has no choice but to use a level warp cheat. An updated version of Alien Invasion provided with the EDuke32 Addon Compilation (by NightFright) contains a fix for this map that eliminates the crash.
  • The "Mare Tranquilitatis" level has a few instances of HOM (Hall of Mirrors), which causes some minor visual distortion.
